Neighborhood Watch

Neighborhood Watch
Neighborhood Watch is one of the oldest and most effective crime prevention programs in the country, bringing citizens together with law enforcement to deter crime and make communities safer.

Sponsored by the National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA), Neighborhood Watch can trace its roots back to the days of colonial settlements, when night watchmen patrolled the streets. The modern version of Neighborhood Watch was developed in response to requests from sheriffs and police chiefs who were looking for a crime prevention program that would involve citizens and address an increasing number of burglaries.

Training

If you recently joined the neighborhood watch, you'll need to attend a training session. The next training session will be held on Monday, April 5th at 7:00pm at Sully Station. To get to Sully Station, take Route 28 north to Westfields Boulevard, exit heading west back over the 28, and turn right on Stonecroft Boulevard. Sully Station will be a ¼ mile on the left.

What You Can Do

If you see someone vandalizing property or painting graffiti, it's important that it be reported to the Police Department immediately. Use the Fairfax County Police non-emergency number at 703-691-2131 or Sully District Station at 703-814-7000. Don't assume that someone else has or will report it. Also be sure to report any suspicious activity including unauthorized use of common areas after-hours.
